Chepstow Plant International

Chepstow Plant International, a privately owned mineral and aggregates contractor with over 50 years’ experience within the plant industry, required a brand style and new website design to represent their award-winning company.

As well as conveying the knowledge and experience of the business, the branding for Chepstow Plant International was created to stand out from their competitors and convey the wealth of services that they offer. The corporate colours of yellow, black and grey reinforce the connection to plant equipment and the aggregate industry. Combining this colour palette with the use of strong diagonal blocks and lines gave a dynamic, modern feel, which when used with high quality images of the actual plant machinery presented an impactful and clear brand style.

The new brand was initially applied to a marketing brochure comprising of an integral folder and pocket, enabling different information to be inserted and allowing the document to reach specific target audiences. The finish of the document used a combination of matt laminate and spot UV varnish to lift certain elements, adding to the confident and professional feel.

The brand was then implemented across a number of promotional materials, from billboards to print advertisements, stationery and the Chepstow Plant International website. All designed utilising the colour palette and style to create a strong and consistent message, regardless of the medium.

As well as endorsing the same brand messages, the website design needed to assist heavily in two aspects of Chepstow Plant International’s work; used equipment sales and job vacancies. The key to these sections was allowing the user journey from entering the website to finding the product or job opportunity relevant to them as effortless as possible, using different devices to allow for interaction with the user and assisting them in their search.

To allow for appropriate content to be displayed on the ‘Used Plant’ section a filter was constructed, allowing users to narrow down the search results and create a list of products which were relevant to their needs. The products section was also set up with an XML feed to push products to external websites and allowing them to show the latest stock offered by Chepstow Plant International.

The ‘Find a Job’ page also made use of a filter, but in addition to this also offered a customised Google map to display jobs in different regions and allowing users to select their job through the map as well as browsing through the list of vacancies available.

The Chepstow Plant International brand was embodied within the website with the visual styling incorporated into a modern, functional and responsive website. Creating a visually stimulating website consistent on desktop computer, tablet and mobile and working with the existing brand elements to reinforce the expertise of the organisation.
